HANNA + REILLY’S WEDDING STORY:

Scottish Rite Cathedral – Indianapolis, Indiana

Hanna and Reilly’s wedding took place in the city’s “castle,” the host of many weddings, the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Located on Meridian Street, this castle is a wedding wonderland and Hanna’s soft pink wedding day was romantic start to finish.

Hanna and Reilly fell in love on a trip to Ireland, and were married in March near St Patrick’s Day, however didn’t want an overly “St Patrick’s / Green / Irish” themed wedding, but wanted some small influences included in the celebration. When asked what they did want, Hanna replied, “well I wish the painting Starry Night was pink.”

The celebration was a truly infusion of Starry Night while honoring Hanna’s love of pink. The Scottish Rite was strung with dozens of star chandeliers to create her starry night. As guests dined “under the stars,” the tables were filled with lush pink linens, velvet napkins and floral centrepieces of early spring blooms and branches. Artfully infused into the entire celebration was Monet’s Almond Blossom’s. We selected this painting because of the color of the flowers against a vivid blue backdrop. This backdrop served as a “stage” behind the dj and as an escort wall when guests first arrived to the space. It also was the perfect blue on the tables for the charger plate.

Hanna and Reilly had a few other subtle personal touches making their wedding so unique and fun . The ceremony took place in Scottish Rite’s South Lounge. This room was once the host location for Taylor Swift’s video, “Change” from her Fearless Album. Always the Swifty, Hanna included this tidbit in their fun facts page on their wedding program, and only played instrumental Taylor Swift songs during their wedding ceremony. The exception to this, was the surprise inclusion of bag pipers outside the Cathedral. It was her dad’s biggest wish to have the pipers, so we surprised her entire family with the pipers which greeted the guests before the event. Irish harp music also played during dinner where guests were first given their gift. Hanna and Reilly surprised their guests with personalized Irish mugs. During the evening, guests could get their Irish mug personalized (and filled with Irish Breakfast Tea, or Irish Coffee) all to honor the couple’s trip to Ireland where they first fell in love.

Using all the little touches Hanna requested in subtle ways, allowed an entirely unique wedding at one of the city’s most famous wedding locations.
