LUCY + BLAKE’S WEDDING STORY:

American Club & Whistling Straits Golf Course – Kohler, Wisconsin

When families entrust us with their wedding memories, we take it very personally. However, it’s also happened that families ask us into their lives for more than one child. In the case of Lucy and Blake, this was the second wedding we were lucky enough to assist, and this time it was for a destination wedding in Kohler, Wisconsin. This impeccable golf resort, host of the Ryder Cup, is known for incredible food, unbelievable service, and of course, worldclass golf. For Lucy and Blake’s wedding, the guests took advantage of all the resort had to offer including some special additions like a private pheasant hunt and cabin rehearsal dinner for the multi-day celebration before the reception on the golf course.

The full weekend allowed guests to partake in all of the resort’s amenities and then let guests fully immerse in Saturday’s wedding celebration. The ceremony took place at the modern chapel on Lake Michigan before the tented reception on the 18th green of Whistling Straits. Guests loved the entirely Wisconsin welcome bag which told the history of American Club (their host hotel) and even included cookies in the shape of sheep (which roam the golf club and help “mow the lawn”.) The personalization of the welcome bag was only a nod to what was to come. Lucy and Blake artfully included their story throughout the weekend in their program and menu cards to ensure their guests felt welcomed and thanked since everyone had to travel to the resort for their nuptials. Lucy and Blake also gave everyone cowboy hats during the late-night dancing because they live in Montana and wanted to honor their new hometown. It was a weekend full of personal and fun touches throughout a luxurious setting. Helping Lucy, Blake and their families create these memories, and add these little surprise moments, was truly an incredible experience and we’re honored to help their family, not once, but twice, be able to do so.
