Megan and Nihanth’s Incredible Indianapolis Wedding Weekend
Megan and Nihanth’s spectacular Indianapolis wedding weekend was filled with tradition, family, personality, fun, and food—everything you want in a wedding!
First, The Sangeet!
Our Mon Amie Events team loves South Asian weddings for so many reasons. The first is that the entire weekend typically begins with a Sangeet.
The event kicks off the wedding festivities with food and special dance performances. The couple, their family, and their friends are all involved. Megan and Nihanth’s Sangeet was beautiful and so festive!
It’s The Big Day!
Megan and the ladies began their wedding day with the team photographing wedding details, hair and makeup services on site, a little breakfast, and dressing for the first of two wedding ceremonies.
Across the hotel, Nihanth and the guys were enjoying breakfast and getting dressed for one of our favorite parts of any wedding – the first look!
The First Look
Megan looked stunning in her traditional red wedding sari. She made her way to Nihanth, and as he saw her for the first time, they were both grinning ear-to-ear. They are so sweet, and we love these photos.
The Baraat
Nihanth was ready for his entrance. The Baraat began with the groom on a beautifully decorated white horse, led by his family and groomsmen.
The processional soon included an enormous group of wedding guests as they made their way to the ceremony venue.
The Mandap
The Scottish Rite Ballroom was set for the elegantly appointed Hindu wedding ceremony. The aisle was filled with lush greenery, flowers, and floating candles in glass cylinders. They led to a riser with a spectacular modern mandap overflowing with white flowers.
Nihanth was led to the mandap by his family, where the ceremony began.
Next, Megan, escorted by her mother and surrounded by family, made her way to the mandap under an enormous canopy of flowers.
The ceremony continued with the bride and groom on separate sides of the mandap, separated by a beautifully embroidered tapestry. Eventually, the two were joined, and the ceremony continued with numerous offerings and blessings.
A delicious luncheon followed the ceremony, along with plenty of wedding party and family photos.
A Second First Look
A little later in the day, it was time for the bride and groom to change for the second wedding ceremony and the festivities to follow.
It is no secret that our Mon Amie Events team loves First Looks. So, a wedding with two first looks is pure for us. Having changed into his tuxedo, Nihanth saw his bride in her incredible wedding gown.
After some additional wedding portraits, it was time for the couple’s second wedding ceremony.
Can’t Help Fallin In Love
The Grand Hall was dressed in a similar color story to the first wedding ceremony. Soft cream colors, gold accents, floral arrangements with lush greenery, and white florals created a magical space.
A ceremony structure of greenery and flowers framed the space where the couple would exchange their wedding vows and rings. The ceremony table held a beautiful monogrammed crystal cross and a unity candle.
With everyone gathered, NIhanth, escorted by his parents, made his way down the aisle first, followed by the wedding party.
Last but certainly not least, Megan was escorted to the altar by her mother. They made their entrance to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Kina Grannis.
After their mothers lit the unity candles, the couple exchanged vows and rings, sealing their bond with a kiss, and exited to “This Will Be An Everlasting Love!”
The Library Is Open!
Guests made their way to the Central Library’s Simon Reading Room for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Meanwhile, the newlyweds enjoyed dinner in private next to a beautiful fireplace in the West Reading Room. We love this touch, as it allows them to enjoy some time alone and frees them up to socialize during dinner!
It also gave them time for a sneak peek at the reception decor!
Megan and Nihanth’s medical practice meant much of the planning was planned via Zoom. Seeing Megan’s joy as she entered the reception space was incredibly special. Their residency hours were arduous, so they put enormous trust in their professional team, which allowed the team to play with texture, metals, and light to create a modern winter white wedding.
Spectacular!
The library overflowed with incredible white floral decor. Tables were draped in soft patterned linens and surrounded by gold-toned chairs. Place settings held delicate china, gold flatware, crystal stemware, and napkins with custom menu cards. The eclectic floral arrangements, lush floral ropes, and candle collections were a feast for the eyes, with tiny details everywhere you looked.
A large round white dancefloor with a custom monogram anchored the space with lounge furniture to one side and a spectacular five-tiered white wedding cake nearby.
Following introductions, the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perry, and they added a little flair to their performance.
The evening continued with the couple’s cake cutting and a tearful toast from the bride’s mother. A delicious multicourse dinner with wine service, family dances, and several additional toasts filled the evening.
Megan, Nihanth, and their guests packed the dance floor, dancing the night away and enjoying some delicious late-night snacks before heading off for the night.
The festivities would continue the next day, closing out the weekend with breakfast with their wedding guests.
Needless to say, everyone had an incredible time at Megan and Nihanth’s Indianapolis wedding weekend.
Congratulations!
