Paloma and Rylin’s Breathtaking Newfields Wedding Day
Paloma and Rylin’s Newfields wedding was a true beauty—nothing short of magical! Every detail reflected their love story, cultural traditions, and impeccable taste. Our Mon Amie Events team loves it when we can bring a wedding vision to life, and this one, in particular, was exceptional (especially considering we had just four months to bring it to life). From a heartfelt ceremony at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church to a glamorous reception under sparkling chandeliers, their day was filled with joy, beauty, and unforgettable moments!
This was more than a wedding—it was a celebration of love, family, and the blending of two beautiful cultures.
Designing an All White Wedding
When Paloma envisioned her wedding day, she had one specific request: an all-white wedding. While vibrant colors often dominate celebrations, especially with her rich Mexican heritage, Paloma wanted to create a wedding aesthetic that felt distinctly different from her colorful quinceañera. Her vision was one of modern elegance—a timeless, monochromatic palette that exuded sophistication yet felt youthful and fresh.
Creating an all-white wedding that was anything but ordinary required thoughtful design and attention to detail. To ensure the event reflected Paloma and Rylin’s personality and taste, we incorporated layers of texture, luxurious details, and subtle accents to bring depth to the minimalist palette.
While all-white weddings can sometimes feel traditional or conservative, Paloma and Rylin’s celebration was anything but. The design was youthful, modern, and vibrant—a perfect reflection of their fresh start as a married couple. This timeless vision was brought to life in just four months, proving that when a couple has a clear dream and the right team, magic happens.
The Morning of the Newfields Wedding
The day began with excitement at the JW Marriott, where Paloma and her bridal party prepared for the celebration ahead. Firstly, Paloma’s gown was an absolute showstopper! She wore a stunning white dress with intricate beading and a detachable train that exuded elegance. Not to mention, It was modern yet timeless, the perfect choice for her white wedding vision. It took my breath away (and honestly, I don’t know how she walked in it the entire day). She was a star.
Her bridesmaids brought a pop of color to the morning, dressed in striking magenta gowns that perfectly complemented Paloma’s bouquet of magenta orchids. Meanwhile, the energy in the room was contagious as hair and makeup artists worked their magic, creating beautiful looks for everyone!
Meanwhile, in a suite nearby, Rylin and his groomsmen shared laughs and pre-ceremony nerves as they suited up for the big day. They kept things classic with tailored suits, setting the tone for the formal yet fun vibe that carried through the day. Their sharp style matched the elegance of the wedding, while their easygoing energy kept things light and full of laughter.
Emotional First Looks
One of the most touching moments from this Newfields Wedding was Paloma and Rylin’s first look. Rylin waited patiently as Paloma approached, her gown sparkling in the light. When Rylin turned to see his bride, his face lit up with emotion and joy. They took a quiet moment together to exchange heartfelt words, expressing their excitement and love for the day ahead.
Of course, their connection was palpable, and the intimate exchange felt like the perfect way to start their wedding celebration. It was a beautiful, private pause before the day unfolded. Afterward, they walked hand in hand through the enchanting Lilly House & Gardens grounds for their portraits. Lush greenery and elegant architecture surrounded them, creating the perfect setting to capture their love story.
A Meaningful Wedding Ceremony at Saint Joan of Arc Church
The ceremony took place at the historic Saint Joan of Arc Church, a venue deeply tied to Paloma’s faith and personal journey. Having attended this church throughout her college years, it held special meaning for her, and the priest himself made an exception to allow us to have the ceremony there. I’m so glad they did, as the church’s stunning stained glass and ornate architecture created a perfect backdrop for their sacred vows. Adding to the moment’s gravity, both Paloma’s college priest and childhood priest co-officiated, blending her past and present in a truly heartfelt way.
The mariachi band set the tone with a lively prelude, honoring Paloma’s Mexican heritage and welcoming guests with warmth. Paloma’s entrance was breathtaking—her long, majestic train cascading down the marble steps as she walked to “The Wedding March,” her radiant smile lighting up the space. It was a perfect blend of reverence and joy.
The ceremony wove together traditional Catholic rites and cultural customs. Paloma and Rylin’s mothers lit the unity candle, the wedding lasso symbolized their eternal bond, and the exchange of coins (arras) represented shared responsibilities. With heartfelt vows and bilingual blessings, the ceremony was both emotional and inclusive—a beautiful celebration of faith, family, and love.
A Garden Party to Remember
Right after the ceremony, guests arrived at the stunning gardens of Newfields for an unforgettable cocktail hour. The sprawling lawn, with its sculptures and fountains, set the stage for the vibrant and lively atmosphere that unfolded. Bright floral linens adorned the tables, adding splashes of color that perfectly complemented the celebration.
The mariachi band set the tone with upbeat music, while folklórico dancers stole the show with their vibrant costumes and energetic movements. Their swirling skirts and rhythmic steps captivated the crowd, bringing a festive, cultural flair to the evening. In fact, guests cheered and clapped along, completely immersed in the lively performance.
The Glass Ballroom Reception
The reception at the Randolph H. Deer Special Events Pavilion was incredible! Guests entered the glass-walled ballroom to find chandeliers dripping with white flowers, long tables adorned with lush centerpieces, and elegant gold accents woven throughout the décor. Also, from the shimmering table settings to the gilded details on the stationery, every element added a touch of sophistication. Can I take a moment to remind you that this gorgeous wedding was planned in just four months? It was a true testament to how quickly things can move when a couple has a vision and hire the right wedding planner to make it happen for them.
As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed a multi-course dinner and heartfelt speeches. A standout moment was the surprise box exchange, with Paloma and Rylin’s families presenting mementos from their childhoods. The emotional reveal reminded everyone of the love and history that brought the couple together. Their first dance to John Legend’s “You and I” perfectly set the tone for the celebration ahead.
The cake was another unforgettable element. Rylin’s one request was to have it made by his hometown bakery in Washington, Indiana—a staple in his life since childhood. The stacked tiers, adorned with lush flowers, were not only beautiful but delicious. It was a sentimental touch that honored his roots and blended seamlessly into the elegance of the day.
A Night of Dancing, Laughter, and Lasting Memories
I have to be honest, this was one of the most joy-filled weddings I’ve ever experienced. During the reception, the energy skyrocketed with a lively Mexican Hat Dance. Guests couldn’t resist joining in, clapping and laughing as they surrounded the couple on the dance floor. Because of this, the spirited tradition broke the ice and got everyone on their feet!
Adding to the festive atmosphere, guests embraced the fun by wearing colorful hats and masquerade masks, turning the dance floor into a night to remember! Late into the night, dessert stations and late-night snacks kept the party going strong as loved ones laughed, danced, and created memories to last a lifetime!
Bilingual Accommodations: Making Everyone Feel Welcome
Lastly, I can’t share the story of this beautiful wedding without mentioning the effort to ensure all guests felt included and valued, regardless of language barriers. With a significant portion of attendees speaking Spanish—including Paloma’s mother and many of her family members—having bilingual support was essential to creating a seamless and welcoming experience.
Enter Hannah, our incredible bilingual team member, who was instrumental in making the day run smoothly. From the moment preparations began to the last dance of the evening, Hannah was a vital presence, bridging any gaps in communication and ensuring that everyone was on the same page. Whether it was assisting the bridal party, liaising with vendors, or helping family members feel at ease, Hannah’s efforts did not go unnoticed. I couldn’t have done it without her. She stayed close to the wedding party and family throughout the celebration, ready to step in wherever needed.
Our DJ team also played a pivotal role in accommodating both languages. Announcements, introductions, and even the evening’s entertainment were presented in both Spanish and English, ensuring no guest felt left out.
The team at Mon Amie Events was deeply honored to help bring Paloma and Rylin’s vision to life. This celebration was more than a wedding; it was a reflection of two families coming together, a journey of love, and a moment of pure magic. Undoubtedly, Paloma and Rylin’s reception was one that no one in attendance would ever forget—a true testament to joy, connection, and celebration!
